Since joined as a member of the IVU (International Vegetarian Union), in 1998, IVS (Indonesia Vegetarian Society) has been shown a strong commitment and unrelenting to promote and introduce vegetarian to the public of Indonesia, Regional and Internationally. Until now, it is estimated there are more than 80.000 people who have joined and active as a member of the IVS, through the 50 branches scattered in various cities in Indonesia.

IVS has been implementing various programs / activities, including: Publication through print and electronic media, Publishing Vegetarian Magazine, Dialogue / Seminar, Online Consultation, Visits and Counseling to Schools & Colleges, Bazaar & Expo Vegetarian, Public Health Service, Reforestation and Conservation Movement Environment.

It is a pride for us, we can be part of World Vegetarian Community, moreover, can get a chance and opportunity to be a Host organizing to the World Organization Vegetarian Congress in 2010. We believe this Congress will bring a huge influence for progress and development Vegetarians for Regional and International, and drive a clear guidelines for the future. The spirit of this Congress will further strengthen the struggle and the movements that have begun in recent years, the struggle to realize the World more Green, more Natural, more Friendly, and respect various forms of life there.

Today, more and more people from different communities, with no difference in ethnicity, race, religion, without any distinction and state boundaries, who has participated in a movement, an understanding based on the awareness to save the Earth, save mankind and all forms of life there. No denying, this movement has become a global phenomenon that will become bigger and bigger.
